Education
I graduated from Michigan State University in May 2014 with a B.A. in English and a minor in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. I have passed the Michigan Test for Teacher Certification for both English and English as a Second Language.
Experience
I love working with children and young adults and have spent the past four years working with students in schools as part of my training with the Michigan State University College of Education. For the past three years, I worked as a writing consultant at the MSU Writing Center where I tutored undergraduate and graduate students as well as worked with university faculty on their writing. I also have experience teaching and tutoring students at middle schools and high schools in the Lansing and East Lansing areas and spent the last year teaching 9th grade English as a student teacher in the West Bloomfield School District. In my work as both a writing consultant and as a tutor in schools, I've worked with speakers of other languages at all stages of the language-learning process. I really love to teach, and I truly enjoy the time I get to spend helping people one-on-one through tutoring.
